Linn Warme

Swedish Pattern Designer & Illustrator

I’m Linn, a Swedish surface pattern designer specialising in floral and botanical design. I create nature-inspired patterns for home, fashion, and lifestyle brands internationally, working from hand-drawn motifs through to production-ready files.

I hold an MFA in Textile Design and spent several years working in-house at two of Sweden’s major fashion companies, Gudrun Sjödén and Lindex. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how design works in a commercial context, from brief to product, and how to create work that is both beautiful and genuinely manufacturable.

Since going freelance, I’ve worked with brands across Sweden, the UK, and the US, on everything from seasonal pattern collections and wallpaper to licensed designs and product illustration. I love the creative challenge of a brief as much as I love the freedom of building my own pattern library.

Hello! Hejhej! Hejsan! Halloj!Howdy! Hallå Hallå!

“Working with patterns is pure joy, I love every aspect of it, from drawing with inspiration taken from nature to the technical aspect of creating a manufacturing ready repeats”

Handdrawn

I have an eye for detail in my work, built through years of training in traditional art mediums like oil painting, watercolor and detailed pencil drawing. I take pride in my craft and love working on paper first, it’s where the best ideas start.

Digital skills

I value hand-drawn craft but I’m equally at home in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, whether that’s creating pixel or vector work, combining traditional techniques with digital editing, or building seamless production-ready repeats. My years working as an in-house design assistant gave me the ability to work efficiently and make fast changes to a client’s liking.

Experience with print design

My textile education and years working in-house at major fashion companies, combined with my freelance work across a range of product categories, have given me a broad and practical knowledge of designing with manufacturing in mind. Whether that’s rotary printed textiles, wallpaper, or a Jaqcuard knit, I understand the technical requirements and design accordingly.
